Simon Grubb
I began training tumbling and taekwondo in middle school. I didn't really care about perfecting my skills; I was always pridefully focused on getting that next trick. By the time I was an adult, my body was beat up and worn down. But when parkour came to America, I couldn't resist. After a few years of practice, I found that it had repaired most of the damage my youth had caused. I became a full-on parkour nerd and took on admin duties for Des Moines Parkour. After several years of teaching newcomers the ropes, I was invited to take on the NinjaZone program at Sapphire Gymnastics Academy. Coaching kids has been a natural fit for me, like I was tailor-made for it. After a few years of growing our program, I met up with some of the directors nearby to start up a league. We found that we all had a shared vision for the discipline and a heart for these kids. The rest is history!
